Celebrating 15 Years of Establishment, Yellow Ribbon Foundation for Indonesian Children Expands Service Coverage in 3 Major Cities

Kapanlagi.com - Since its establishment in 2006, Yayasan Pita Kuning Anak Indonesia has been actively involved as a foundation that helps children with cancer. This year, the foundation founded by Pandji Pragiwaksono celebrates its 15th anniversary.

To mark this occasion, Yayasan Pita Kuning expands its reach by opening services in 3 major cities, namely Medan, Yogyakarta, and Denpasar. The selection of these 3 cities was not done arbitrarily. There are several factors taken into consideration.

"First, we looked at the number of children with cancer. These 3 cities are in the top 20 list. Another consideration is that we chose cities where there is already infrastructure in the field of pediatric cancer. So each hospital, namely RS Sanglah in Denpasar, RS Dr. Sardjito in Yogya, and RS Adam Malik in Medan, already has the necessary infrastructure," explained Raka Pramudito, Chairman of Yayasan Pita Kuning Anak Indonesia during the Press Conference, (10/6).

1. Helping Hundreds of Children

For over a decade, hundreds of children with cancer have received assistance from the Yellow Ribbon Foundation of Indonesia. There are currently 28 Child Cancer Patients (CCP) who are still active members of the Yellow Ribbon.

"In the past 15 years, we have helped over 100 CCP. We are still calculating the specific numbers because we need to categorize which siblings have recovered, which ones have passed away, or which ones have completed the administrative process," said Raka.

"Currently, there are 28 active CCP. We aim to increase the target to 45 CCP by the end of the year," he added.

2. Yellow Ribbon Foundation Programs

Various programs have been organized to help children with cancer under the guidance of the Yellow Ribbon Foundation. For example, fundraising campaigns have been conducted to support the continued assistance for these children.

"The programs revolve around fundraising activities carried out by the Yellow Ribbon, such as Sport For Hope. These sports activities are done to support and seek assistance from the community for the well-being of the Yellow Ribbon siblings. Additionally, there are also contributions from funding platforms like Vote For Hope and others," said Hafiz Alfiarga, Head of Program and Partnership Division of the Yellow Ribbon Foundation for Indonesian Children.

3. Provide Comprehensive Assistance

The opening of services in the three cities is expected to expand the range of assistance that the Yellow Ribbon Foundation can provide to children with cancer. The assistance provided is comprehensive, including both medical expenses covered by BPJS or non-BPJS, as well as nutrition and other supporting aspects of life, so that children with cancer can grow and be cared for as they should be," concluded Raka Pramudito.
