Last Saturday (10/11) was commemorated as Heroes' Day, which also marks the commemoration of the Battle of Surabaya that took place in 1954.
President Jokowi apparently didn't want to miss out on the moment. He went to Bandung to commemorate this historic day.
What's unique, President Jokowi also joined the 'ngonthel' or rode a vintage bicycle in the Gowes Bandung Lautan Sepeda event.Â
Not alone, the president rode together with West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil. The citizens were enthusiastic when they saw the president passing by.
It is known that the gowes event was organized by Kodam III/Siliwangi. To further enhance the aura of the 45 era, the President wore special attire.
Yes, he wore the uniform of the freedom fighters when fighting for independence in the past.
He also continuously interacted with the community by waving his hand.
In addition to Ridwan Kamil, the cycling event was also attended by residents as well as the Indonesian National Army and Police.
