Desanier Vivi Zubedi Marries 2 Indonesian Local Fabrics at MBFW 2020 Moscow Fashion Event

Kapanlagi.com - Designer Vivi Zubedi once again enlivens the international fashion stage. Together with the Vivizubedi brand, Vivi now has the opportunity to showcase her works at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2020 in Moscow, Russia, on October 23, 2020.

In this first international virtual stage of Vivizubedi during the Covid-19 pandemic, Vivi showcased her latest exclusive design titled Archipelago series 'Humbanua'. The design is a combination of two regional fabrics, Sasirangan and Tenun Sumba.

Vivi admits to being inspired by the distinctive fabrics of Borneo, which she interprets as full of mystery and beautiful philosophical images, as well as seeing the strength and hospitality brought by the Sumba community through their weaving. In this fashion show, Vivi brought six exclusive pieces. The contrasting colors of black, maroon, blue, and purple represent the characteristic colors of each region.

The inspiring woman from Banjarbaru revealed that her involvement in the event was inseparable from the role of the Indonesian Sharia Creative Industry (IKRA) in advancing SMEs in the country.

"The beginning of my participation is actually part of the ISEF program, where this virtual fashion show in Russia was held under the auspices of IKRA. So I have 2 functions here, as the initiator and founder of the IKRA Indonesia program together with Bank Indonesia and also as the designer of Vivizubedi," said Vivi to journalists.

Certainly, Vivi hopes that the event can also introduce authentic Indonesian fabrics on the global stage and advance the SMEs involved in it.

"Hopefully Indonesian fabrics can be more recognized globally, because Indonesian fabrics have started to be known. Not only fabrics, but SMEs in Indonesia can be more recognized globally," she concluded.
