Kapanlagi.com - A fatal accident occurred again on the Surabaya-Jombang Toll Road, precisely at Kilometer 686 B, on Tuesday (2/4/2025) evening. The incident involved a Suzuki Ertiga car colliding with a truck whose identity remains unknown. As a result of the accident, one life was lost and three others sustained serious injuries.
The victim who lost their life in this tragic event was Sujinem (68), a resident of Sragen, Central Java. Although she was rushed to Jombang Regional Hospital, her life could not be saved, and she breathed her last at the hospital.
The Head of the Gakkum Unit of the Jombang Police Traffic Department, Ipda Siswanto, explained that the accident was suspected to have been caused by drowsiness experienced by the car driver. "Upon arriving at KM 686 B, the indications of the driver being drowsy did not maintain a safe distance, causing them to collide with the vehicle in front (KR category 2 and above)," he said.
A tragic accident occurred around 21:15 WIB, when a Suzuki Ertiga with license plate AD 1322 EX, driven by Hariyanto (36), was traveling from east to west.
At Kilometer 686 B, the car collided with the rear of a mysterious truck whose identity has yet to be revealed. It is suspected that the car driver was drowsy and could not avoid the vehicle in front of him.
While the struck truck disappeared from the scene before the authorities arrived, the Ertiga car came to a stop in the left lane in a normal position facing west. Unfortunately, this incident resulted in the driver and passengers of the car suffering serious injuries due to the very hard impact.
In this incident, there were four people in the car, namely one driver and three passengers. The deceased victim was Sujinem (68), a resident of Purwosuman Village, Sidoharjo District, Sragen, Central Java. He sustained severe injuries all over his body and was rushed to RSUD Jombang, but could not be saved.

The vehicles involved in the incident have now been moved to the Jombang Police Traffic Unit Office as evidence, while the authorities are still intensively searching for the truck driver involved in this accident.
