Festival 6 Being Held, Trenggalek and Tarakan SMEs Share Stories of Their World-renowned Batik Products

One of the efforts is through batik and the efforts made by Trenggalek Regency Government and Tarakan City Government to share interesting stories about the export of batik products from SMEs in both cities/regencies at the Festival 6 event, Unlimited Cross-Generational!, held at Senayan Park, Jakarta, Saturday (8/7/2023).

Novita Hardini Mochamad, the wife of Trenggalek Regent, attended as a speaker in the SMEs Discussion session at Festival 6. She did not forget to mention that the production of Trenggalek's SME batik has been continuously growing over the years, reaching both the domestic and export markets.

"We are now focusing on how to send our SMEs to a wider market, one of them being batik. Since 2017, we have introduced Trenggalek batik to the global market, such as in Colombia and Paris Fashion Week. From there, the demand for Trenggalek batik has increased," she said.

1. Fantastic Monthly Income

In the domestic market, Trenggalek's UMKM batik has entered Sarinah and successfully earned an income of up to Rp 100 million per month. Novita even wants to develop Trenggalek's UMKM actors in other sectors. UMKM Tarakan has successfully introduced its products to foreign countries with its distinctive characteristics.

"UMKM Tarakan's batik products have also gone international, because of its natural dyes. From the beginning, I forbid them to be printed, they must be handmade. No use of molds," Khairul emphasized.

2. Various Events

In Festival 6, initiated by Liputan6.com and KapanLagi Youniverse, various events are held at Senayan Park, Jakarta for two days, July 8-9, 2023. Discussions with the theme of Unlimited Cross-Generational Discussions are attended by several inspirational figures, including a UMKM Sharing Session.
