251 Selected MSMEs, A Real Support for the Proud of Indonesian Made Movement

For your information, the National Movement Proud of Indonesian Made with the title Lokal Keren Jatim Road to BRILIANPRENEUR 2021 is an expression of concern for MSMEs initiated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia through the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment in collaboration with the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises. The government, through the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, then appointed BRI as the organizer, collaborating with the East Java Provincial Government and partnering with 2 other top brands, namely Jaya Board and Wingsfood.

A total of 251 MSMEs from East Java were selected to participate in this event and had the opportunity to take part in the virtual expo through the lokalkerenjatim.id website, where the event provided an opportunity to introduce their products more widely, both domestically and internationally.

From Opening Ceremony to Inspirational Podcasts

Throughout the month, Lokal Keren Jatim Road to BRILIANPRENEUR 2021 presented a series of entertaining and inspirational events. Starting from the super lively Opening Ceremony attended by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut B.Pandjaitan, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD, the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir, the Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, and the President Director of BRI, Sunarso. The Opening Ceremony became even more lively because it featured a live performance from Padi Reborn.

Next, there were other inspirational events, such as a collaboration auction between SMEs and famous designers. All proceeds from this auction were donated to Dekranasda East Java to advance local SMEs in East Java.

Not only that, throughout the month-long virtual event, there were also 10 podcast episodes plus a special podcast episode that was interesting and inspirational, featuring renowned speakers in their fields with a total YouTube viewership of over 60 thousand. For example, the first podcast episode presented the theme of Hunting for Delicious East Javanese Food, featuring F&B Practitioner Putri Habibie and Food Vlogger Farida Nurhan.

Next, there was inspiration on How to Look Beautiful with Local Products, featuring a conversation with Linda Wan, Founder of Heslin Beauty, and Selly Sherwin, known as a beauty influencer.

There were also other equally interesting themes, such as Phenomenal Local Fashion, which brought a conversation with Warisatul Hasanah, Founder of Al Warits Batik Aromatherapy, along with Clarissa Ivenna, popular as a content creator and entrepreneur.

Other Proud Achievements

Many other achievements were successfully achieved from the virtual event Lokal Keren Jatim Road to BRILianpreneur that took place throughout August 2021. Carrying the mission to advance SMEs in Indonesia, especially those in East Java, the virtual expo managed to achieve a sales volume of IDR 11.2 billion, which means it surpassed the previous target of IDR 10 billion.

In addition, through this event, BRI also provided many new insights for SME players through various activities, such as business matching, 3D virtual showcase, onboarding SMEs on marketplaces, and many more. Specifically for business matching, during Lokal Keren Jatim, SMEs successfully achieved a total sales contract of IDR 4.9 billion from both local and foreign buyers (exports). These achievements exceed the target of business matching transactions made earlier, which was Rp 2.5 billion. Each program broadcasted via streaming reached a wider audience. This is proven by the total viewers of more than 600,000.

Furthermore, the successful implementation of the Local Expo Road to BRILIANPRENEUR 2021 has provided many positive impacts for the community, especially for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in East Java. MSMEs can still maintain and prove the quality of their superior products through strict curation by the organizers.
