Karhutla Bukit Teletubbies Bromo Suspected to be Caused by Flare Prewedding

Kapanlagi.com - Mount Bromo tourist attraction is temporarily closed due to the occurrence of Forest and Land Fires (Karhutla) again in the Savana Lembah Watangan or Bukit Teletubbies area. The fire is suspected to be triggered by a flare ignited by someone who was taking wedding photos. The perpetrator is currently being questioned at the Sukapura Police Station, Probolinggo Police.

"Yes, that's right, the perpetrator is already in custody at the local police station," said Septi Eka Wardhani, Head of BB TNBTS Administrative Division in Malang, Thursday (7/9).

The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (BB TNBTS) has issued a total closure announcement that has been in effect since Wednesday (6/9) at 22.00 WIB until an undetermined time limit. The closure announcement is the result of an evaluation of the conditions in the field, including the alleged flare ignition incident.

"Yes, sir, the closure announcement that we have to do, the evaluation result when our appeal through social media, websites, and other media is ignored. So, currently TNBTS is more focused on controlling and monitoring the area. All our visit activities are closed," he explained.

2. Temporary Closure

The forest fires in the TN BTS area have previously been extinguished, while the closure so far has only been a diversion. However, a sudden total closure is being carried out following a new fire outbreak.

Visitors who have purchased tickets through online booking can request rescheduling when the tourist attractions reopen. The terms and procedures for rescheduling will be announced again.

3. Prohibited from Igniting Fire

BB TNBTS urges the community, visitors, and tourism service providers to protect the area from forest fires. The community is prohibited from igniting fire and similar activities, for the sake of safety, security, and mutual comfort.

Meanwhile, there is a circulating video post stating that the forest fire in Bukit Teletabis was caused by visitors igniting flares during a wedding photo shoot.
