Offended by Insults While Playing Online Games, This Man Hammered His Friend's Head

Kapanlagi.com - Feeling hurt by mockery, Muhammad Imron (18) killed his coworker, Redi Setyo (20), using a hammer. The victim was killed in their shared boarding room, where they both lived on a daily basis.

The Chief of Malang Kota Police, Commissioner Pol Leonardus Simarmata, revealed that the perpetrator and the victim were air conditioning workshop employees who rented a boarding room together. They both also shared the same hobby of playing online games.

1. Throwing Insults

Before the murder occurred, they were playing online games and throwing insults at each other. The perpetrator then felt hurt and they briefly stopped talking to each other because of the insults from the victim.

"The suspect felt hurt, which led to planning the murder of the victim," said Commissioner Pol Leonardus Simarmata at the Malang Kota Police Station, Wednesday (9/9).

2. Pukulkan Palu

The suspect took a hammer from the workshop where he worked, before then hitting the victim's head with it. The suspect struck the hammer twice on the head, once on the right shoulder and chest of the victim.

"Finally, it was struck on the chest to ensure that the victim was dead," said Leo.

The body of Redi Setyo was found in a room in the AC workshop, Jalan Letjen S Parman, Blimbing District, Malang City, on Thursday (3/9). The victim was found dead with signs of violence.

Since the incident, the suspect has fled and hid in a rice field before being captured by the police. The perpetrator is charged under Article 338 of the Indonesian Penal Code regarding murder, with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
