Performing a Mask Painting Prank, 2 American Influencers Will Soon Be Deported from Bali

Kapanlagi.com - On April 26, 2020, two tourists known as American influencers named Josh Paler Lin and Leia Se caused a stir among Indonesian citizens. This duo performed a prank that was considered very inappropriate in one of the supermarkets in Bali.

Paler and Leia were known to have created a prank video content, where Leia painted a mask image on her mouth. This was done to deceive everyone in the supermarket into thinking that she was wearing a mask.

Josh Paler Lin's video post immediately went viral and sparked various public outrage. Even Melaney Ricardo also joined in giving her harsh comments about the duo.

"This is a very INSENSITIVE content! Covid is NOT A JOKE! Many have lost their loved ones because of this virus!" wrote Melaney on the viral video post.

1. Will Soon Be Deported

After going viral, the Bali police immediately took action. It didn't take long for the police to apprehend the 2 influencers and request them to make a video apologizing for their actions.

In Bali itself, there is a regulation where visitors who do not wear masks will be fined Rp 1 million. And if the incident happens again for the second time, the violator will be deported immediately.

However, it seems that the Bali police have run out of patience, so they decided to deport the 2 American influencers directly.

"It is only appropriate to give them a severe punishment, not only with a fine but also deportation. They not only violated the rules but also intentionally provoked the public to violate health protocols," said Dewa Nyoman Rai Dharmadi as quoted by 9gag website.

2. Waiting for Covid-19 Test Results

Josh and Leia recently underwent Covid-19 testing. Once the results are out, they will be deported immediately. For now, Lin and Se are detained in the immigration office's holding cells, waiting for their return flights.
