Once they arrived at a secluded sugarcane plantation, the perpetrators asked to stop with the excuse of retrieving something. It was at that moment that the two suspects had prepared a rope to kill their victim, Apris Fajar Santoso (29).
It is known that the victim was killed by the two passengers. The perpetrators killed the victim because they wanted to take control of the victim's vehicle.

The victim sitting in the driver's seat was killed by being strangled from behind. The suspect, Ahwan, strangled the victim's neck with a slap rope.
Meanwhile, Exza, who was sitting next to the victim, immediately hugged and covered the victim's face to prevent him from making noise. Exza also spontaneously took the initiative to turn off the car engine.
"When the victim was already dead, he was pulled to the back seat. Exza then took over the steering wheel," said Kasat Reskrim of Malang Police, Iptu Wahyu Rizky Saputra, at Malang Police Station, Thursday (7/6).
Initially, the perpetrator wanted to dispose of the victim's body at Balekambang Beach, but there were still many people there. The victim's body was then dumped at Piket Nol in Lumajang Regency.
The perpetrator himself was caught after the public found out that the car was in a mosque. CCTV footage captured the presence of the car, leading to further investigation.
The police then arrested the perpetrator Exza at his home along with the victim's car as evidence. Shortly afterwards, Ahwan was also arrested.
"Through their interrogation, it was revealed that the victim's body was dumped at Piket Nol Lumajang," he said.
