Kapanlagi.com - The 2026 World Cup is not only filled with spectacular actions on the field but also enlivened by various memes that have gone viral on social media. One of the most frequently appearing is "Dictator Mbappe", a satirical nickname aimed at the star of the French national team and Real Madrid striker, Kylian Mbappe.
Although known as one of the best footballers in the world with an incredible goal record for both his club and country, Mbappe is often made the subject of internet jokes. This meme resurfaced throughout the 2026 World Cup and was widely used by football fans in various funny posts.

Many fans associate the nickname with Mbappe's playing style on the field. As a forward, he is more focused on attacking and relatively rarely helps in defense. This situation forces his teammates to work harder when the team loses the ball.
This situation is considered similar to the roles once played by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo during their prime, where their extraordinary attacking ability was seen as able to compensate for their minimal defensive contributions.
In addition, several videos showing Mbappe taking the captain's armband from other players, such as Dani Carvajal at Real Madrid or N'Golo Kante in the French National Team, have also sparked jokes that he has "authoritarian" traits. However, all of this is viewed more as humor on social media rather than a true reflection of his personality.
Interestingly, the meme "Dictator Mbappe" actually started to gain popularity in early 2024, not because of his actions on the field.
At that time, Mbappe sued a content creator from Marseille and owner of a kebab shop named Mohammed Henni. The reason was the use of Mbappe's name in the description of one of the kebab menu items that referred to its bread as "round like Mbappe's head".
Through his lawyer, Mbappe requested that the description be removed and threatened to take the matter to court. This response actually triggered a widespread reaction on social media.
Henni then posted a response expressing surprise, feeling that the issue was too trivial to be taken to the legal realm.

Since then, the nickname "Dictator Mbappe" has been increasingly used in various memes depicting Mbappe as a figure who always wants to control situations, both on and off the field.
The popularity of the meme even reached the music world. In April 2026, football content creator SurNevis released a song titled "Kylian Mbappe Dictador Anthem" on various streaming platforms.
The song managed to attract the attention of internet users and has been played over a million times on Spotify. Clips of the song are often used as the background for meme videos showcasing various funny moments of Mbappe during matches.
Although viral and often used as a subject of jokes, the meme "Dictator Mbappe" is essentially part of the internet humor culture that has developed among football fans and does not reflect an official judgment of the player himself.
