Out of 10 candidates who successfully passed the administrative selection, they faced a fit and proper test over three days starting November 18, where each candidate presented their vision and mission in front of the members of the House.

The plenary meeting on November 21, 2024, became the decisive moment, where Setyo Budiyanto emerged as the winner and was elected as the KPK Chairman, thanks to the majority support from the members of the House.

"Setyo's experience and strong network were the main reasons for his selection," said the Chairman of Commission III of the House, Habiburokhman, marking a new step in KPK leadership.

In the report on the wealth of state organizers (LHKPN) released on April 1, 2024, Setyo Budiyanto recorded a staggering total wealth of Rp 9.6 billion.

This wealth is primarily sourced from an impressive property portfolio, with his largest asset being land and buildings in South Tangerang valued at Rp 5.5 billion, followed by a property in Makassar worth Rp 1.7 billion, and a plot of land in Bogor valued at Rp 400 million.

Interestingly, Setyo displays an efficient and transparent lifestyle, free from debt or risky investments, reflecting the integrity principles of a leader in the KPK.

"Openness in reporting wealth is part of the integrity of a KPK leader," emphasized Nasir Djamil, a member of Commission III of the DPR.

Among his assets is a 2012 Toyota LX worth Rp 875 million and a 2016 Piaggio Vespa motorcycle priced at Rp 21 million.

Interestingly, Setyo also listed two road bikes in his wealth report—a 2020 RB bike and a 2022 Trek RB bike totaling Rp 50 million, reflecting his passion for cycling.

Additionally, his LHKPN report notes cash and cash equivalents amounting to Rp 705 million, reflecting quite careful financial management amidst the dominance of fixed assets in his wealth.
