TikTok Application, Blocked by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics and Loved by Indonesian Society

However, not long after, TikTok was blocked by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kominfo) because it was considered to disturb social media users. Kominfo argued that TikTok could not limit pornographic content in the past, which forced them to block TikTok in Indonesia.

Now, with the update of the TikTok system and collaboration with the government, TikTok can be present again in Indonesia.

TikTok plays an important role in the course of 2020. Starting from the George Floyd case that occurred in the United States, which eventually gained global attention, the Omnibus Law in Indonesia, as well as the development of the Covid-19 pandemic, all originated from TikTok.

The ease of sharing information in the form of 15-second videos through TikTok has made this social media platform widely used by many people. In addition, with the FYP (For You Page) that allows us to access Tiktok videos from other parts of the world, Tiktok has changed the era of social media.

It cannot be denied that Youtube has already become a platform used by many singers to release their songs. Now, with the presence of TikTok and all its conveniences, more and more new singers are becoming famous.

They are not only famous because of their singing videos, but also because their songs are used as music in TikTok videos. Singers like Doja Cat, Melanie Martinez, and Zico are some of the singers who have become popular thanks to TikTok. Their songs that are often used as music in TikTok videos have successfully raised their names on the world stage.

With the advancement of technology, the aspirations of teenagers have changed. Now, becoming a content creator has become the main goal of Generation Z in the future. Youtube started this wave by producing a lot of famous content creators. However, Youtube only provides a means to upload their content.

TikTok comes with an easy way to become a content creator through smartphones. With TikTok, we can easily edit the videos we make according to our desires. Even though it is limited to 15 seconds per video, users can be as creative as possible to make their content known to many people.

5. Potential to Beat Other Social Media

The return of TikTok in Indonesia opens up many opportunities for social media users. With a fresher and newer look, TikTok is targeted by many people who failed to shine on Instagram and Youtube.

The ease of editing videos according to the user's desires, videos that can be accessed by other users worldwide through the FYP (For You Page), and the many features offered are valuable considerations. With TikTok, we can share many things that we cannot share on other social media platforms. Even now, many people have realized this potential by using TikTok as their marketing tool.
