Previously, RF was involved in a fight and stabbed AWN in the chest with a kitchen knife until he died. They were involved in teasing each other until they agreed to resolve the issue on the Araya Bridge.

1. Arguing with the Victim

The reason why the victim and the perpetrator could meet is because the perpetrator sent a message that said, "That cheap girlfriend of yours,".

It is suspected that the message was sent using the perpetrator's friend's cellphone. Since the victim had previously blocked the perpetrator's number, stating that they did not want to engage in an argument.

"The victim had blocked the suspect's phone, but the message was sent through their friend's phone. So it continued," he continued. At that time, the victim happened to be with two friends on Teluk Bayur Street, not far from the location. Then the three of them rode together with two witnesses to the scene. Meanwhile, the perpetrator was with six people, with the perpetrator armed with a sharp weapon.

2. Asking a Friend to Clean the Knife

The perpetrator is suspected to have planned his actions by bringing a sharp weapon to the location. It was brought from a cafe in Tirtomoyo, Pakis District, Malang Regency, an hour before.

"The person in question brought the knife from the cafe when he wanted to meet the victim. The knife was brought from the cafe and was already in the possession of the person when the fight occurred. This means it was planned, the knife was brought," said Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, the Chief of Malang Kota Police.

Investigators have requested statements from witnesses, both from the perpetrator's friends and the victim's friends. If it meets the elements of a crime, their status will be raised to suspect.

"We have taken statements from the perpetrator's friends. Currently, they are still considered witnesses. We will further investigate whether there is any involvement in the Thursday night tragedy," explained Kombes Pol Budi.

Statements have been obtained from six people who are friends of the suspect. Currently, further investigation is still ongoing.

3. Charged with Premeditated Murder

The perpetrator who had fled before finally surrendering, escorted by family members to the Malang Kota Police Resort. Evidence seized includes black clothes worn by the victim. A 30-meter long kitchen knife used by the perpetrator, as well as two motorcycles.

"The knife evidence was taken from the cafe after being washed by the perpetrator's friend. After the incident, the perpetrator returned to the cafe and gave the weapon to another witness to wash," explained Kompol Anang.

Suspect RF is threatened with the maximum penalty of death under the charge of Premeditated Murder. The suspect is charged with Article 340 of the Indonesian Penal Code (KUHP) as a subsidiary to Article 338, and as a subsidiary to Article 351 paragraph 3 of the KUHP, which resulted in the death of another person.
