Kapanlagi.com - Last Thursday (11/6), the Twitter world was buzzing about a scene from a soap opera. The scene showed a hijab-wearing woman shocked to see a Hello Kitty doll being boiled. The post instantly went viral.

Many were puzzled by the scene. Eventually, the Aya Swords account, who is the scenario writer for the soap opera, spoke up. She explained the entire process behind the 'Hello Kitty boiling' scene.

1. Fatigue and Drowsiness

According to Aya, the scene is a snippet from a soap opera with the initials SYK. At that time, she only had one hour to complete the scene while feeling tired.

"It was midnight and we had a one-hour deadline. We had to create a scene that was as safe as possible and had to pass the censorship. Because we were tired and sleepy, we decided that this was the safest scene," wrote Aya.

2. Must Pass Sensor

The safe scene referred to is a scene without violence, fire, and blood. This is because there is a child in that scene.

"In that scene, there is a child. According to the TV station's requirements, in a romantic-religious genre soap opera, if there is a child in one scene, the scene cannot be too sadistic. Fire, blood, and violence cannot be seen," he continued.

3. Complicated for Everyone

Aya also mentioned how in one day, the soap opera airs for 2 hours, equivalent to 2 episodes. It's not just her who is overwhelmed, the actors are also not allowed to go home.

"Once it airs, it lasts for one hour, which is equivalent to two episodes. Can you imagine how complicated it is for the writing team and the team on the field? It's so complicated that the actors have to stay overnight and can't go home," Aya wrote.

4. Tight Deadline

Meanwhile, she also has a tight deadline. In a day, she has to submit scripts for 3 to 5 episodes. Meanwhile, the soap opera airs every day. It also has to pass the censorship. The writing team has to brainstorm to ensure that the soap opera continues even though sometimes the story doesn't make sense.

5. For the Sake of Ratings

Yes, the story that doesn't make sense is often questioned. According to Aya, the soap opera continues even though the story starts to not make sense because the ratings are good.

"Simply because the ratings are still good, there are still many viewers. At that time, mothers or domestic helpers are still awake waiting for this. So, we are grateful to keep writing and shooting for the sake of making a living," Aya wrote.
