Dr. Ali has been a doctor since the 90s. He served in East Timor from 1992 to 1995. It was during this time that he decided to delve into the field of obstetrics.
During his service in Timor, he gained a wealth of experience. From having to walk 8 hours to reach his practice location to being paid only three eggs by his patients.
Doctor Ali Sungkar has completed his education from undergraduate to doctoral degree at the University of Indonesia. Currently, he is also a lecturer at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology FKUI-RSCM.
Doctor Ali is very serious in the field he pursues. According to him, obstetrics is not only about assisting the childbirth process, but also about striving to improve the quality of babies.
"If we only do it half-heartedly, we might also have a generation that is half-hearted. If our children are dumber than us, then our generation will decline. Our children must be better than us, that's the principle," said Dr. Ali quoted from Detik Health.
Currently, Dr. Ali practices at RSCM, Pondok Indah Hospital, and Brawijaya Hospital in South Jakarta. He has assisted many mothers in giving birth during his 28-year career.
