Yayasan Warisan Budaya Mataram Pleret Moves from Jogja to Indonesia

Kapanlagi.com - On June 9, 2023, a press conference with the theme of Ancestral Heritage was held at the Amaranta Prambanan hotel. The event was attended by Ir. RM. Nurdiantoro, Chairman of the Yayasan Warisan Budaya Mataram Pleret. Yani Sapto Hudoyo, the wife of the late artist and founder of the artist's tomb, Sapto Hudoyo, was also present. They explained various cultural preservation movements in Yogyakarta that have national benefits.

Yayasan Warisan Budaya Mataram Pleret (YWBMP) is a foundation that is concerned with preservation in the Pleret area, Bantul, Yogyakarta Special Region. Established since 2013, this foundation has carried out various activities to study and explore the historical heritage of Mataram Pleret.

"We established this Cultural Heritage Foundation to study, explore the potential, both artifact sites and historical heritage of Mataram Pleret, then participate in actualizing, hopefully participating in preserving and viralizing," said Ir. RM. Nurdiantoro, Chairman of YWBMP at a press conference at the Amaranta hotel, Yogyakarta, Friday (06/09).

2. Culture Preservation Movement from Jogja for Indonesia

According to Nurdiantoro, this preservation movement is not only beneficial in the region, but also nationally. Through YWBMP, the preservation movement to remember the services of past heroes and artists becomes an important thing. The spirit of that memory is believed to be able to dampen the political situation ahead of the 2024 Election which is prone to being exploited and causing division.

"Nationalism is built on similarity, and then the most important thing is that we are approaching an extraordinary political year, 2024. Where the interests of groups and factions will certainly be prioritized. From Jogja, we voice out, remember the services of our predecessors, the fighters for independence in defending our independence," said Nurdiantoro.

3. Real Action from Yayasan Warisan Budaya Mataram Pleret

YWBMP's real action in preservation is also carried out together with the community in various routine agendas. This foundation also has various foster groups related to the Sultan Agungan culture. In that agenda, various foster results from various groups are displayed.

"There are monthly, quarterly, six-monthly agendas, and annual cultural events. It involves all foster potentials," continued Nurdiantoro.

In the event, Yani Sapto Hudoyo, the wife of the late Sapto Hudoyo, was also present. In line with what Nurdiantoro did, Yani Sapto Hudoyo also did a lot of movements in the field of ancestral heritage preservation through the Seniman Tomb to the Sapto Hudoyo Art Gallery.
