Sad News, Senior Singer Koes Hendratmo 'Berpacu Dalam Melodi' Passed Away

Kapanlagi.com - Sad news comes from the music world of the homeland. Senior singer and quiz presenter Berpacu Dalam Melodi, Koes Hendratmo, has just passed away today, Tuesday (7/9/2021). It is known that Koes passed away at the age of 79.

This sad news was conveyed by Helmy Yahya. Through his personal Instagram, Helmy expressed deep condolences for the departure of one of Indonesia's senior musicians.

"Innalillah wainna ilaihi rojiun! Farewell, my teacher, the best singer and MC in Indonesia! May you be accepted in His presence! You will be missed! Al-Fatehah!" wrote Helmy Yahya on his Instagram.

1. History of Heart Disease

According to CNN Indonesia, the news of Koes Hendratmo's death was also confirmed by his daughter, Bonita. When contacted by the media, Bonita's manager also said that Koes possibly died from a heart condition. 

"Yes, Bonita's father (Koes Hendratmo) has passed away. It is possible that he died from a heart condition. He did have a history of heart disease," said Bonita's manager quoted from CNN Indonesia, Tuesday (7/9/2021).

According to Tantowi Yahya, when contacted by journalists, Koes Hendratmo was found by his house assistant in an unresponsive state and alone at home.

2. Career Journey

Koes Hendratmo started his career in the 60s. Besides being a singer, Koes is also known as a presenter for the quiz show Berpacu Dalam Melodi since 1988.

Throughout his involvement in the music industry, the father of singers Anda and Bonita has released several albums, including songs originating from Minang.
