The series 'Gadis Kretek' tells the story of a woman's journey in defying traditions in the kretek cigarette industry in the 1960s. Dian Sastrowardoyo, Ario Bayu, Putri Marino, and Arya Saloka have been chosen as the main cast of this series.Playing in the series 'Gadis Kretek' poses its own challenges for these top Indonesian actors and actresses. From the character Darsiyah which is so far from Dian's personality to Arya's effort to let go of the character Aldebaran from 'Ikatan Cinta' which has become so attached to him. However, all these challenges are well overcome thanks to the acting method created by actor Rukman Rosadi, who also plays Idroes Moeria.
