Willie Salim is Cursed and Forbidden to Step Foot in Palembang by Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin IV

On March 22, 2025, he was reported to the South Sumatra Regional Police (Polda Sumsel) by Ryan Gumay Lawfirm on behalf of the Palembang community. The Head of Sub-Directorate V Cyber of the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) Polda Sumsel, AKBP Dwi Utomo, confirmed that there are three reports related to this case that have been submitted. Three individuals reported Willie, namely two lawyers named Ryan Gumay and Agung Wijaya, as well as a content creator from Palembang, Rendy Aditya, also known as Rondoot.The video, which was initially considered entertainment, suddenly became a focal point due to the incident that occurred after Willie left the cooking location. The uncooked rendang seemingly disappeared, taken by the locals, which created a negative perception of the Palembang community on social media. Although Willie has publicly apologized and stated that the disappearance of the rendang was not the fault of the locals, a police report was still filed.Willie also emphasized that the content was not staged as alleged, despite numerous testimonies from people claiming to be at the scene. They stated that Willie's management allegedly had prepared plastic containers under the giant stove. Recently, Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin (SMB) IV Raden Muhammad Fauwaz Diradja has forbidden the content creator from stepping foot in Palembang unless they apologize.
