When shooting KUCH KUCH HOTA HAI 25 years ago, Kajol had a fight with Karan Johar. She didn't want to be Anjali, she wanted to be Tina played by Rani Mukherjee.
"You won't know what I'll do with the character Tina," said Kajol to Karan Johar, the director of KUCH KUCH HOTA HAI.
Kajol and Karan argued for about 45 minutes. Kajol really wanted the character Tina, but Karan insisted on giving the role of Anjali to Kajol.
"No, you play Anjali. So now be quiet," Karan said as imitated by Kajol.
The argument was won decisively by Karan. Kajol finally played Anjali and Tina was played by Rani Mukherjee.
However, it seems that Karan's choice was indeed right. Kajol could portray the character of Anjali very well, and even after 25 years, her character is still remembered worldwide.
