Becoming the Soundtrack of the Film 'SIKSA NERAKA', 8 Portraits of the Band Purgatory Rising Again with a New Formation - Inviting Indonesian Idol Graduates

They strengthen the previous composition consisting of Anggy on vocals and keyboard, AL on drums, and TF and Badart on guitars.

"We are revamping Purgatory with a new lineup featuring Husein Alatas and Alan, who used to be in Deadsquad. We want to revive Purgatory from its slumber," said Anggy, interviewed at CGV Cinemas Grand Indonesia, Thamrin area, Central Jakarta, on Monday (11/12/2023).

The addition of Husein Alatas as Purgatory's vocalist certainly didn't happen suddenly. Because the collaboration between Anggy Umbara and friends with Husein has been going on for a long time, although it is not widely known by the public.

"This is not the first time I performed with Purgatory. But it seems like this is my first recording with them," explained Husein on the same occasion.  

"We have been friends for a long time. Coincidentally, we performed together for the first time in 2009. It's been a long time, even before Indonesian Idol," added Anggy.  

  The return of Purgatory to the Indonesian music industry is marked by the release of a single titled Flatlined, which serves as the soundtrack for the film SIKSA NERAKA.  

Flatlined is apparently an acoustic version of a previous song they performed.

"During the film production process that I directed, there was one of our songs that stuck in my head. When it came to editing, I tried to include the song Flatlined, whose lyrics fit the story of this film. The original song was heavy, it was on our third album, but for the film, we made it an acoustic version," said Anggy.
