Gangaa Series Comes to Television, Ruhana Khanna Plays a Widow and Orphan Due to Riot Incident

1. Tale of a Young Girl

Gangaa series airs starting Monday, May 30, 2022, every day at 12:30 pm WIB on ANTV. It tells the story of a young girl who has to go through the tradition of marriage at a young age. However, a tragedy results in her becoming a widow and orphan at the same time.

"Through the Gangaa series, we can learn many things, including the values of other countries' traditions and also the values of sacrifice and sincerity," said Kiki Zulkarnain, Chief Program & Communication Officer of ANTV, on Saturday (28/5/2022).

Gangaa herself became a strong figure despite becoming a widow and an orphan at a young age due to a riot that occurred during her wedding. In that incident, her father and husband died.

"We hope that Gangaa's strong and always cheerful figure can inspire women out there. Hopefully, loyal viewers of ANTV can accept Gangaa as their new favorite Indian series, following other Indian series on ANTV," said Kiki Zulkarnain.

After the riot, Gangaa tried to find her father-in-law. Instead of meeting him, her father-in-law reported that she was rumored to have died due to the riot. Hurt by this, Gangaa ran away from the refugee tent.

3. Not Begging

Then, Gangaa accidentally met a businessman, Niranjan Chaturvedi (Hiten Tejwani). Finally, Niranjan asked his assistant to take Gangaa to a widow's shelter there. Gangaa couldn't live in the shelter when she found out she had to beg for their survival.

She remembered her father's teachings not to beg from anyone. Gangaa, who tried to run away, finally met Niranjan again. Because of his pity, Niranjan and his wife adopted Gangaa as their own child, like their other two children, Pulkit and Sagar.
