10 Portraits of Chua Kotak Revealing Memories with Late Father-in-Law, Likes to Chat and Tease

"Well, with papa, there's a lot of love because we always joke around with the grandchildren and talk about anything, even teasing each other. Because he was very wise, you know," said Chua after the funeral at Al Makmur Cemetery, Ciganjur, South Jakarta, Sunday (2/6/2024).

Mother-in-law Chua is known to have passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at the hospital due to complications from illness. 

While still being treated at the hospital, not only the deceased's children took care, but also the sons-in-law and daughters-in-law.

"Last time we met a few weeks before he passed away, the children of the in-laws took turns taking care at the hospital. So my wife asked me to accompany her, we still had a chance to talk before his condition worsened," said Chua.

According to Chua, his father-in-law was a person who had a culinary hobby.  

The late father-in-law is said to know a lot of food places that not many people know about, until it went viral.

"Yesterday when we were at the hospital, my dad loves culinary so much that he found this one fish restaurant on TikTok. It used to be his regular place when it was still a small stall, but now it's viral and huge," Chua said.

"Then my dad remembered this restaurant, remember?" "Oh yeah, yeah." "We were going to order through a delivery service, but my dad already had tubes attached, so I asked, 'Do you want me to order for you?' and he said, 'Let's wait until I recover.' Instead, we ended up talking about food," Chua continued.

Chua and the family said they will uphold the late father's last wish while he was still alive.

"The last message from Kokong for us, grandchildren, is to be harmonious, share with each other, and love one another. I even told my sister-in-law, because she is the youngest, I told my husband too, saying 'let's share with each other,'" she concluded.
