The legendary Indonesian band, God Bless, officially opened the exhibition titled Retrospective God Bless: 50 Years of Work at the National Gallery of Indonesia, Gambir, Central Jakarta, on February 16, 2024. Various personal items of God Bless band members are also displayed here.

What does the portrait of the exhibition dedicated to appreciating 50 years of God Bless's work look like? Check it out here!

This exhibition was directly opened by Ahmad Mahendra, Acting Head of the Public Service Agency for Museums and Cultural Heritage, and attended by all members of the God Bless band.

"Some of them do have their own collection (items). So there are several things like musical instrument costumes, even Ian's mixer, that old mixer, and some from Rangga too, and Acong, they worked hard to find what they could get," said Achmad Albar.

Achmad Albar admitted to being surprised by the quality of the collections gathered by the curators. According to him, this exhibition is able to bring back the nostalgia values from the early days of his band's career.

"But earlier, there were many surprises that I didn't expect and many that I liked. Hopefully it can be more complete," he said.

Then one of the exhibition curators, Dandi Ramdhani alias Sir Dandy, explained the process of collecting hundreds of collections from the legend.

The vocalist of the band Teenage Death Star expressed his enthusiasm despite facing several obstacles in searching for God Bless collections due to their rarity.

"This is an honor for us because this is the first time an Indonesian rock band holds an exhibition at the National Gallery of Indonesia," said Sir Dandy.

The exhibition "Retrospective God Bless: 50 Years of Work" will take place at Building A of the National Gallery of Indonesia and is open to the public from February 17 to March 1, 2024, from 09:30 to 20:00 WIB.

And what's equally interesting at this exhibition is the unique costumes worn by the members of God Bless during their performances and music videos.

And finally, this is a very old recording device. Unlike now, where everything is digital, during the era of God Bless, they still used analog recorders like this.
