Sad news once again enveloped the entertainment world in the homeland. Senior artist Kiki Fatmala passed away on Friday (1/12). It is known that Kiki had been fighting against stage 4 cancer before finally passing away due to complications. Here are the details.
Kiki Fatmala passed away. This news was conveyed by her family through a post on Kiki's Instagram account on Friday morning (1/12/2023).
"With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we want to announce the passing of our beloved Kiki Fatmala, who was not only a beloved member of our family but also a friend known by many. Kiki Fatmala passed away on December 1, 2023, at the age of 56 due to complications from cancer," the statement in the post reads.
Previously, it was known that Kiki Fatmala was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer at the end of 2021. Since then, she has undergone a series of treatments, including going to Singapore.
In an interview in November 2022, Kiki admitted to undergoing chemotherapy 8 times. The cancer in her body has shrunk, but she still continues with the treatment.
"Every month I have to do immunology and every 3 months I have to do a PET scan, so they take my blood. So I'm still undergoing treatment until now," she said at that time.
Since the beginning of the diagnosis, Kiki has started preparing for her funeral and writing a will, as well as planning her inheritance for when she passes away. She even couldn't eat or drink because she was shocked by the doctor's diagnosis.
During her battle with cancer, Kiki Fatmala gained attention for her increasingly thin body and pale face.
As time went on, Kiki recovered and was able to resume her activities. She expressed gratitude for the support she received from her loved ones.
"I definitely recovered because of God. Secondly, the medicine was good, everything was good, the best. But there also had to be people who supported and encouraged me," she said at that time.
Kiki also expressed her gratitude for her loyal husband's presence and support. "I didn't fight cancer alone. I fought because my husband was by my side. He was the one who searched for the doctors and the medications," she continued.
