Heavy rain accompanied the arrival of the body of comedian Christian Barata Nugroho alias Polo Srimulat at the funeral home in Kavling Tegal Perintis, Bekasi City, West Java. The man who died at the age of 61 arrived at 16:15 WIB from Ana Medika Bekasi Hospital.

Tears were seen from Polo's children when welcoming the arrival of the body. The coffin was lifted from the ambulance that brought it and the body was immediately laid in the funeral home.

Mourners continued to arrive to pay their last respects. Including members of Srimulat, such as Kadir, Kabul Basuki or Tessy, Rohana, and senior actor, Roy Marten.

Outside the house, flower arrangements began to arrive from friends or colleagues of the late Polo, fellow comedians. Starting from Paski (Indonesian Comedy Artists Association), and there are also flower arrangements from Cak Lontong and others.

Meanwhile, the funeral service is planned to be held at 19.00 WIB, before the body is departed to Madiun, East Java on Wednesday at 21.00 WIB for burial.

"Polo's body is planned to be buried in Madiun, East Java on Thursday (7/3/2024)," said Adrianus, a representative from GKJ Bambu Kuning, Bekasi, at the funeral home on Wednesday (6/3/2024).

Apparently, before his death, Polo had requested to be buried in Madiun when he passed away.

"Indeed, the late's request was to return and rest in Madiun," he said.

Unfortunately, until now the family has not yet decided where Polo will be buried. The body will be temporarily placed in his parents' residence in Kertosari Village, Ceger District, Madiun, East Java.

"We don't know where he will be buried, but one thing is certain, Polo's body will be taken care of by GKJW Madiun," he concluded.

Polo passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 12:10 PM WIB. Polo passed away at the age of 61 due to a long-standing lung disease.

Meanwhile, Tessy who was also present at the house of mourning recounted her journey with Polo, who is known to have a high sense of responsibility and is very intelligent.

Polo's responsibility as one of the members of Srimulat made him continue shooting despite his poor health condition at the time. Tessy also revealed that Polo had once brought a large-sized oxygen tank during shooting.

"Not a small oxygen tank, a big one. Often, friends would advise him, 'You don't need to shoot anymore.' But he insisted," Tessy added.
