1. Studying Abroad

As reported from the MetroTV Perspective YouTube channel on Tuesday (10/3) last week, Sarwendah admitted that she had studied abroad. Starting from junior high school to college, she did it all abroad.

"I used to study Mandarin literature. In Beijing. So I was in Malaysia for junior high school, Taiwan for high school, and Beijing for college," said the mother of three.

Those countries were chosen because she had relatives there. "As for Malaysia, my dad chose it because I was still 13 or 14 years old and there are relatives there," she continued.

2. Received Scholarship

During her study abroad, Sarwendah was an accomplished student. It's no wonder she managed to receive a scholarship.

"I used to receive a scholarship in school. (It was a scholarship from high school). I've been ranking since junior high," said the 30-year-old woman.

3. Became a Teacher's Assistant

Sarwendah's intelligence caught the attention of the teachers. Almost all of them made Sarwendah their assistant.

"When I was in Taiwan, there was a teacher who was really close to me. So, I was like, if there's an assistant for lecturers, there's also an assistant for teachers. I was the assistant for most of the teachers," explained Sarwendah.

4. Used to be a Waitress

Despite her busy schedule as a teacher's assistant, Sarwendah managed to try something else. She even used to work as a waitress.

"I even had part-time jobs. I worked as a waitress in Malaysia and Taiwan," said the woman born on August 29, 1989.

"I worked as a waitress to earn extra pocket money, just for fun. (The money was used for) Traveling, eating out," she continued.

5. Once a Mandarin Translator and Tutor

After returning to Indonesia, Sarwendah worked as a freelance translator.

"I used to be a Mandarin translator before (becoming a tutor). For example, when someone from China came and wanted to collaborate with someone from Indonesia, I would translate. Freelance," explained the singer of the song 'Patah Jadi Dua'.

6. Aspiring to be a Designer

Now Sarwendah is involved in the entertainment industry and business with her husband. Who would have thought that she actually wanted to be a designer and a model.

"Back then, my dream was to be an interior designer and a model," said Sarwendah.

7. Joining Cherrybelle Because of Accompanying a Friend to Audition

In addition to being a Mandarin translator, Sarwendah also joined Cherrybelle after returning to Indonesia. Apparently, during the audition, she was actually just accompanying a friend.

"Actually, the story is that I was accompanying my friend. Then I was asked to audition by the casting person. And it turned out that my friend was not chosen, but I was," explained Sarwendah.

"During the audition, I said 'Sorry, I'm not very familiar with Indonesian songs' because I had just returned. So I looked at the lyrics while performing," she added.

8. Learning to Sing

After passing the Cherrybelle audition, Sarwendah prepares herself to enter the entertainment world. She then learns to sing seriously.

"I learn to sing. I learn as much as I can with the process until I can do it now," said the star of the movie LOVE IS U briefly.

9. Becoming a Mandarin Singer

Diligently learning to sing yields results. Sarwendah is then trusted to become a Mandarin singer until now.

"More off air in Mandarin. People say my tone sounds better when speaking Mandarin, it suits me more," explained Sarwendah with a small laugh.

10. Can't Handle Wearing Costumes

Even though she is now a singer with many jobs, Sarwendah can't handle dressing up in beautiful costumes.

"I can't handle wearing beautiful clothes. So, if for example, after I perform singing, I immediately change clothes. I immediately let my hair down. I can't handle being pinned, my head hurts," she said to Atiek.

11. Initially Couldn't Cook

All this time, Sarwendah was known to be good at cooking. Apparently, she couldn't cook before and instead learned a lot when she was still living abroad.

"Initially, I couldn't cook. But because I missed Indonesian food when I was studying abroad, I cooked it myself," she said in Atiek Nur Wahyuni's Youtube channel on May 14th.

12. Already Cooking in the Morning

Being wealthy doesn't make Sarwendah like to wake up late. Yes, she wakes up early in the morning and immediately starts working in the kitchen.

"I wake up at around 4:30 or 5:00. It depends on what food the child wants to eat," she said.
