12 New Anime Recommendations Starting April 2024 - Offering Various Genres

The first quarter of 2024 has brought various interesting anime titles. There is SOLO LEVELING which comes as the opener, to a series of films like SPY X FAMILY CODE: WIDE and DEMON SLAYER: KIMETSU NO YAIBA – TO THE HASHIRA TRAINING. Some anime titles that were present in the first quarter of 2024 have already ended.

To fill the empty schedule, a series of official anime titles premiered in the Spring 2024 season. Some bring new stories, while others continue previously delayed stories. If you are already bored with the previous stories, a series of new anime newcomers can be an option to refresh your mind.

Spring 2024 season itself presents a collection of new anime complete with various genres. There is a shoujo anime ready to pamper viewers with warm and romantic love stories. There is also an isekai anime that comes with exciting and thrilling adventures. Here are 12 new anime that will air starting April 2024.

1. RE:MONSTER

Anime isekai fans, gather around! RE:MONSTER is a new anime that you shouldn't miss. This anime tells the story of Tomokui Kanata, who is reincarnated as the weakest goblin, Goburou. Despite the reincarnation, Goburou is granted memories of his previous life. In his new life, Goburou embarks on a new adventure to train his abilities and try to survive.

Anime RE:MONSTER is produced by Studio Deen and has been airing since April 2, 2024. So far, several characters have been introduced in the anime RE:MONSTER. The list of characters includes Goburou as the main character, other goblin characters like Mi, Kichi, Sato, Sei, as well as human characters like Rubellia, Spinel, Emery, and Alma Timiano.

2. A CONDITION CALLED LOVE

A CONDITION CALLED LOVE is a new shoujo anime that will air in Spring 2024. This anime tells the story of Hotaru Hinase, a teenager who was previously indifferent to love and had no romantic experience. Hotaru feels content with the friends and family around her.

One day, Hotaru meets a model student named Hananoi Saki who is sitting alone in the middle of a snowstorm. She offers him an umbrella. The next day, Hananoi appears at school and invites Hotaru on a date. Hotaru, who was initially hesitant, agrees to try new things related to love.

3. BARTENDER: GLASS OF GOD

BARTENDER: GLASS OF GOD becomes the next title that adds to the lineup of new anime for Spring 2024. This series explores the world of bars and alcohol, a theme that may be unusual among anime fans in Indonesia. BARTENDER: GLASS OF GOD itself is a reboot of the anime BARTENDER that aired in 2006. This anime highlights the lives of adults and all their problems.

In a private bar called Eden Hall, people come to unwind and seek entertainment. “It's not you who finds Eden Hall, but Eden Hall will find you,” that's the famous expression from the bar managed by Ryuu Sasakura. With his extraordinary cocktails, Ryuu is ready to serve those who want to take a break from various life problems.

4. WIND BREAKER

Unlike the previous three anime titles, WIND BREAKER is a new anime with the theme of delinquents in high school. WIND BREAKER presents the adventure of Haruka Sakura in Furin High School, a school known as a place for troublemakers. In her new school, Haruka is reluctant to get involved with weak people. She is only interested in becoming part of the strongest.

The anime WIND BREAKER is adapted from the manga by Satoru Nii, which has reached 14 volumes. The animated version of WIND BREAKER is produced by CloverWorks, which also produced SPY X FAMILY, SLOW START, and ACE ATTORNEY SEASON 2. WIND BREAKER itself is touted as a competitor to TOKYO REVENGERS and CROWS ZERO.

5. THE CROW DOES NOT CHOOSE THE LORD

The story of KARASU WA ARUJI WO ERABANAI takes place in an alternate world called Yamauchi. The world of Yamauchi is ruled by the Yatagarasu clan. This clan has the ability to transform from humans into crows and vice versa.

In the same world, there lives an eccentric young man named Yukiya. He is chosen to serve the prince in the imperial palace. Yukiya's life in the palace turns out to be not smooth. Yukiya and the prince must confront the two-faced nobles.

6. KAIJU NO. 8

KAIJU NO. 8 tells the story of Kafka Hibino, who dreams of becoming a member of the Kaiju Defense Force. Unfortunately, Kafka has to settle for his fate as a cleaner of deceased monsters (kaiju). When he is possessed by a monster and transforms into Kaiju No. 8, Kafka embarks on a new path as a member of the Kaiju Defense Force to fight other monsters.

KAIJU NO. 8 is one of the highly anticipated new anime. In addition to presenting a new story for anime fans, KAIJU NO. 8 also features two international musicians to provide the OST. First, there is YUNGBLUD who sings the opening titled Abyss. Second, there is OneRepublic who sings the song Nobody for the ending.

7. GO! GO! LOSER RANGER!

Adapted from the manga by Negi Haruba, GO! GO! LOSER RANGER! tells the story of the war between the Villainous Army of Evil and the Divine Dragon Rangers. The Villainous Army of Evil, which comes from outer space, attempts to invade the earth. However, the attack from the extraterrestrial forces is successfully repelled by the Divine Dragon Rangers. After experiencing defeat, the members of the Villainous Army of Evil are forced to pretend to attack the city in order to boost the popularity of the Ranger forces.

It can be said that the anime GO! GO! LOSER RANGER! offers a new perspective. Instead of focusing on the heroic side of Power Rangers, this anime actually shows the dark side of Power Rangers, who are actually the true antagonists.

8. VIRAL HIT

Unlike most anime adaptations that are mostly adapted from manga, VIRAL HIT is based on the webtoon by Park Taejoon. The series is published in Korean and English on the LINE Webtoon platform and has reached chapter 203. Park Taejoon is a South Korean webtoon creator who previously created the phenomenal work Lookism.

The anime VIRAL HIT is produced by Slow Curve studio. The story focuses on Hobin Yu, a high school student who is often bullied. After a video of his fight with Jiksae goes viral on social media, Hobin earns a lot of money. He then teams up with Jiksae to create content and produce more videos to make money.

9. THE FABLE

Genre seinen comedy, anime THE FABLE is an adaptation of the manga by Katsuhisa Minami. Previously, THE FABLE was released as a live-action format in 2019 and 2021. Now, the animated version is produced by Tezuka Production and premiered on April 7, 2024.

THE FABLE presents the story of an invincible assassin named Fable. While carrying out his job as an assassin, Fable has been involved in various criminal activities. One day, Fable receives an order from his boss to live and disguise himself as an ordinary person for one year. Fable then embarks on his new life filled with comical situations.

10. BOUKYAKU BATTERY

Do you like sports-themed anime? BOUKYAKU BATTERY is a must-watch. This anime is adapted from the manga by Eco Mikawa and produced by MAPPA studio. Some famous seiyuu involved in BOUKYAKU BATTERY include Toshiki Masuda as the voice of Haruka Kiyomine and Mamoru Miyano as the voice of Kei Kaname.

BOUKYAKU BATTERY presents the story of two highly talented baseball players, Haruka Kiyomine and Kei Kaname. Unfortunately, Kei loses his memory and they both decide to enroll in an unknown high school. There is no baseball team in that school. Together with a former baseball player they met in middle school, Haruka and Kei then establish a new baseball club.

11. UNNAMED MEMORY

Prince Oscar tries to find the Blue Moon witch to remove the curse he is experiencing. When he meets Tinasha, Prince Oscar considers marrying her. However, Tinasha rejects Oscar's proposal. Nevertheless, Tinasha agrees to stay in the palace for a while and investigate the curse experienced by the prince. When Tinasha's true identity is revealed, a dark secret is unveiled.

The anime UNNAMED MEMORY is based on the light novel by Kuji Furumiya. This anime is produced by ENGI studio and was originally scheduled to air in 2023. However, production issues have delayed the previously set airing schedule.

12. GRANDPA AND GRANDMA TURN YOUNG AGAIN

This anime is a romantic comedy genre. The story follows an elderly couple named Seizou and Ine who have been married for a long time, but still feel like newlyweds. One day, Seizou and Ine eat a mysterious apple. The next day, they wake up with their youthful appearances.

Seizou and Ine's grandchildren are shocked by their sudden youthful appearance. However, their grandparents continue to live their lives as usual. Seizou and Ine continue to work in the fields and their wisdom remains unchanged.
