4 Indonesian Celebrities Caught in Drug Cases Amidst the Corona Covid-19 Pandemic, Latest Naufal Samudra

Once again, drug abuse cases among celebrities in the country have resurfaced. In 2020, several artists have been apprehended by the police for allegedly using illegal drugs. The latest is the name of artist Naufal Samudra who got caught in the use of the prohibited substance.

Here are a series of artists who were arrested by the police in 2020 for drug offenses amidst the corona covid-19 pandemic:

1. Vanessa Angel

Previously, Vanessa Angel and her husband, Bibi, were arrested by the West Jakarta Metropolitan Police regarding a suspected drug abuse case on Tuesday, February 17, 2020. The pregnant actress was detained by the police along with her husband and assistant. Vanessa was temporarily released in mid-March after testing negative for drug use.

However, Vanessa was summoned by the police again on April 9, 2020, due to possession of xanax pills. Until now, Vanessa is being held in custody due to her six-month pregnancy.

2. Tio Pakusadewo

Senior actor, Tio Pakusadewo, was arrested by the police on Tuesday, April 14, 2020. Tio was detained on suspicion of involvement in a drug abuse case. Tio Pakusadewo was apprehended at his residence in the Terogong area, South Jakarta. During the search, the police found evidence in the form of 18 grams of marijuana.

Apparently, this is not the first time Tio Pakusadewo has been arrested by the police for a drug case. Tio was previously arrested by the police for a drug-related case in 2017. At that time, Tio was proven to have purchased methamphetamine from his accomplice. As a result of his actions, Tio was sentenced to nine months in prison.

3. Reza Alatas

One of the soap opera stars Reza Alatas was arrested by the police for alleged drug abuse on Friday, April 10, 2020, with evidence of 0.25 grams of crystal meth. Reza was found positive for using 3 types of drugs, namely methamphetamine, amphetamine, and benzodiazepines. The presence of methamphetamine proves that Reza Alatas used crystal meth, while the presence of benzodiazepines in his urine proves that he used ecstasy.

Previously, the soap opera actor GANTENG-GANTENG SRIGALA was also arrested by the police in 2008 for the same case.

4. Naufal Samudra.

This soap opera actor and FTV artist was arrested for alleged abuse of synthetic marijuana, which was put into an electronic cigarette or vape liquid. Naufal Samudra was arrested by the Narcotics Unit of the West Jakarta Metropolitan Police at his home in South Jakarta on Tuesday, April 14, 2020. He also claimed to use synthetic marijuana to help him relax during rest.

Although the urine test result was negative, Naufal is still detained at the West Jakarta Police Detention Center. Naufal is detained because he possesses, stores, carries, and distributes class 1 narcotics.
