The Percut Sei Tuan Sector Police, Medan City Police, North Sumatra, arrested Ayla Zumella, who is a graduate of the Indonesian Idol talent search event. She was arrested for alleged involvement in a scam investment.
"She (Ayla Zumella) was arrested after being reported by her members in a case of alleged fraud or embezzlement of money," said Percut Sei Tuan Police Chief AKP Ricky Pripurna Atmaja, Friday as quoted by Republika.
The arrest of Aya is based on a report from a victim named Herman Rumapea. He is one of the investment members managed by Ayla, who suffered losses of up to 120 million rupiah.
"There are also other members that we know have made reports at the West Medan Police Station and the Medan Metropolitan Police. There are two reports at the Medan Metropolitan Police, one report about fraud and another report about car theft," he said.
Based on the report, the police finally arrested Ayla on Garu III Street, Medan Amplas District, Medan City. The case is still being investigated by the police.
