Mulan and several other legislative candidates filed a lawsuit against the Board of Trustees and the Central Leadership Council of the Gerindra Party. The lawsuit requests the Gerindra Party to appoint 14 people (including Mulan) as legislative members.

The lawsuit was granted by the South Jakarta District Court. The legal counsel for the Gerindra Party stated that they will address this issue internally within the party.
