Ramadan Arrives, Maher Zain Releases Mini Album 'Nour Ala Nour' in Collaboration with Top Middle Eastern Musicians

Kapanlagi.com - Singer Maher Zain releases a mini album titled Nour Ala Nour (Light Upon Light). The album contains six songs. The Ramadan song Gana (Ramadan Has Come to Us) was chosen as the first single. In the Nour Ala Nour album, Maher Zain collaborates with several top musicians from the Middle East and Turkey.

Among them, renowned Egyptian musician Aziz Elshafie for the song Nour Ala Nour. Then Yemeni poet and composer Ahmed AlYafaie in the song Qalbi Sajad. Also, Egyptian composer Ahmed Zaeem in the song Huwa Ahmadun, Egyptian poet and composer Dr. Dalia Emara in the song Laytaka Ma’ana, and Palestinian songwriter Anwer Hussam (Ramadan Gana).

1. Full of Emotion

Meanwhile, the song Hubb Ennabi (Love of the Prophet) can be said to be a song full of emotions. This is because the lyrics of this song were the last ones written by the late poet and lyricist Salah Gafal before tragically passing away in his struggle against Hepatitis in 2012.

"I have had these songs in demo form for a long time, and have been waiting for the right time to share them with the world," said Maher Zain, Tuesday (13/4/2021).

2. Ideal Opportunity

Salah Gafal is the lyricist of Maher Zain's hit songs, namely Ya Nabi Salam Alayka, Assalamu Alayka, and Radhitu Billahi Rabba. The song and music video Hubb Ennabi will be dedicated to him. Meanwhile, in this song, the artist and composer from Egypt, Mohamed El-Sawy.

"I think Ramadan is the ideal opportunity to do this, considering the nature of these songs, their message, and the overall reflective mood," continued Maher Zain.

In producing his EP, Maher Zain also collaborated with Emre Mogulkoc (Huwa Ahmadun), an arranger from Gaza, Palestine, Mahmoud Ammar (Ramadan Gana, Nour Ala Nour), an arranger from Yemen Sarhan Eskandar (Qalbi Sajad).

Meanwhile, the songs Hubb Ennabi and Laytka Ma’ana were arranged by Maher Zain himself. Other musicians involved include Erik Arvinder (Sweden), Ronny Lahti (Mixing), and Bjorn Engelman (Mastering). The recording process was done in several cities, Stockholm, Istanbul, Cairo, Damascus, Amman, and Gaza.

3. Spiritual Journey for 10 Years

"In this EP, you will listen to various songs that uplift the spiritual aspect, where I want to bring the listeners along with me through the journey that I myself started more than 10 years ago towards deeper self-actualization and inner peace," he said.

Six songs from this album will also be released in music video format on YouTube and TV channels worldwide. Maher Zain collaborates with talented director from Tunisia, Idris Kheder, to present six music videos filmed in Cairo, Tunis, and Beirut.

"There is no better time than Ramadan for spiritual reflection, self-improvement, and dedication to embark on this inner journey," concluded Maher Zain.
