Singer Ashanty shares stories about her vacation experience with family in Japan since the end of last year. This vacation became one of the moments that was eagerly awaited despite facing various challenges, such as extreme cold weather and the health conditions of the children that were temporarily disrupted.

"When they returned, they mostly had flu and cough, nothing too serious. It was also the season, right? Just had to keep an eye on their food and sleep," said Ashanty when met in the Radio Dalam area, South Jakarta, Thursday (1/9/2025). Here are the details.

Ashanty also shared her experience playing in the snow with her children. Although it was fun, the unpredictable weather at the snow location meant they could only play for a short time.

"Yes, the downside when we were playing in the snow was the snow falling into our eyes and hair. So for taking photos, it wasn't great, and for the kids to play, it was definitely uncomfortable. We only lasted a little while before we went back to Tokyo. Because the location is 2 hours from Tokyo," she explained.

Japan was chosen as the family holiday destination for various reasons. For Ashanty, Japan is one of the countries that is suitable to visit with family.

"Personally, it's a country that I visit. The food is also suitable, and it's not too far. If you want to play in the snow, you can, I already know the spots to visit, so it's easier," she stated.

However, there is one thing that concerns Ashanty about the New Year celebration in Japan. Unlike in Indonesia, which is usually lively with fireworks and parties, Japan has a more subdued tradition.

"But we know that in Japan, there are no fireworks for New Year, no countdown, only in Tokyo. Because for them, New Year is like their Eid, a family gathering," she explained.

Despite that, Ashanty admitted she was surprised because many Indonesians choose Japan as a year-end holiday destination. "I don't know why so many Indonesians are in Japan for New Year," she added with a smile.

For Ashanty, the calm atmosphere of Japan during New Year still provides a different experience. "But there are really no fireworks, so if you want a lively New Year celebration, Japan is not the place. But if you just want to gather with family, eat, and so on, then Japan is fine," she said.
