7 Photos of Atiqah Hasiholan Reveal the Long Journey of the Family Inheritance Case, Claims to Only Maintain and Not Want to Take Control

Actress Atiqah Hasiholan came to the Indonesian National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency to provide information related to the alleged embezzlement of inheritance involving her mother, Ratna Sarumpaet. This case was reported by Ratna's grandson, Husin Kamal, to the authorities. As one of the witnesses, Atiqah has just undergone an 8.5-hour examination at the Indonesian National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency. Here are the details.

"This case has actually been around for a long time, since 2012. In 2024, this case was brought to the police, so, surprise or no surprise," Atiqah told the media on Tuesday (24/12/2024).

She also revealed the long journey of this issue that began with the division of inheritance from her late father. In 2007, Atiqah's father, Achmad Fahmy Alhady, passed away. After his passing, the inheritance was divided among the three families he left behind, including Ratna Sarumpaet and her four children, Muhammad Iqbal, Fathom Saulina, Ibrahim, and Atiqah Hasiholan. "My father happened to be married three times, so there were tough negotiations among the families at that time," explained Atiqah.

She added that the process of dividing the inheritance took quite a long time due to various internal dynamics. As the guardian of her two sons who suffer from schizophrenia, Muhammad Iqbal and Ibrahim, Ratna Sarumpaet applied for guardianship in 2008. This was done based on family discussions. "My mother applied to be the guardian of my older siblings. In the guardianship process, mother Atiyah (the wife of Muhammad Iqbal) was also involved because she lived with my mother and my older brother," said Atiqah.

After a long journey, the inheritance was finally divided in 2012 according to the decision of the Religious Court. However, the peace that was hoped for was disturbed after Atiyah, the wife of Muhammad Iqbal, secretly sued the inheritance in the district court. "Not long after the rightful heirs were established, mother Atiyah secretly filed a lawsuit. All evidence and witnesses are available," emphasized Rio Dewanto's wife.

Ironically, three months before filing for divorce, Muhammad Iqbal had just bought a house for Atiyah. However, this issue strained their relationship. Muhammad Iqbal even planned to divorce Atiyah, although that plan had to face the conditions proposed by Atiyah's side. "Mother Atiyah is ready for divorce, as long as there are some assets transferred to their name," said Atiqah.

The problem became more complicated when in 2021, Atiyah remarried. Atiqah claimed to have evidence of the marriage and has submitted it to the police as part of the legal process. "We have proof that Mrs. Atiyah remarried. There are photos and WhatsApp conversations that I have submitted to the police," she said.

In this case, Atiqah emphasized that her family is not trying to take control of Muhammad Iqbal's inheritance. On the contrary, they are even willing to spend personal funds to maintain those assets to keep them in good condition. "We have no intention of taking over our brother's property. We even contribute extra to maintain those assets, because managing land assets is not easy," she concluded.
