The divorce process between Baim Wong and Paula Verhoeven continues to attract public attention. In his statement at the South Jakarta Religious Court, Baim finally spoke out regarding the allegations that he forbade Paula from meeting their children.
This issue is said to have garnered sympathy from some members of the public, especially among mothers, towards Paula and criticized Baim. In response to this, Baim provided a firm clarification.
"I just want to clarify one thing, I have never forbidden Paula from meeting her children, and I have never forbidden Paula from staying with her children. That is what makes the mothers hate me and also my friend," said Baim, Wednesday (16/4/2025).
With a loud voice, Baim swore that he did not commit the alleged act. He stated that it was impossible to prevent a mother from meeting her child.
"I say this consciously and my religion is Islam, for the sake of Allah, whether you believe it or not, the important thing is that I convey this," he asserted.
Baim admitted that he really hates parents who prevent their children from meeting their parents, especially if it is their mother. Therefore, he feels the need to clarify the false accusations.
"I really hate hearing about one incident where someone doesn't allow their mother to meet her child, I really hate that," said Baim.
Furthermore, Baim explained that he does not want his household conflict to become public consumption, especially if it leads to prolonged misunderstandings. "Suddenly there’s another narrative, just calm down because it’s sad for the kids," he said.
He also urged all parties not to blame him or Paula, because what matters now is the future of their children. "Back to it, just pray, everything will be fine and also please don’t blame me again or Paula," Baim concluded. /aal
