After returning from his pilgrimage to the Holy Land, Ivan Gunawan admitted to experiencing many changes in his worship practices, one of which is Friday prayers. This mandatory prayer for Muslim men has become a worship he performs more diligently after deepening his faith. Here is his confession.
When asked by Ruben Onsu after returning from the Hajj pilgrimage, Ivan Gunawan expressed his feelings about deciding to go on Hajj. "Assalamualaikum wr.wb, I am now next to Haji Igun," greeted Ruben before asking Ivan Gunawan.
In a video post on Ruben Onsu's YouTube channel (10/6/2025), Ivan mentioned that everything has become smoother and without obstacles while he performs his worship, and he even quickly thought about wanting to go on a pilgrimage.
"So maybe 4 or 5 months back, I really felt that Allah is getting more affectionate towards me. Whatever I ask for, Allah gives, and I really feel this, so I ask without any intermediaries, just from myself and Allah answers," Igun expressed while recalling his spiritual transformation.
"Alhamdulillah, yesterday my fasting went smoothly for 30 days (Ramadan), and now I immediately pray every Friday. My heart's movement to engage in many religious processes, seeking Islam, I truly seek myself," Ivan continued.
"Until finally the Eid holiday yesterday (holiday to Dubai), I immediately thought, I want to go on pilgrimage," said Igun. The process was that quick and Ivan was amazed that his journey went smoothly without any drama.
"There’s no story that needs to be exaggerated, there’s no story that needs to be downplayed. It really was that enjoyable," Ivan said, recalling that he had no bad experiences at all during his pilgrimage.
