Encountered in the Cikini area, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (10/6/2025), Ahmad Dhani emphasized that copyright issues must be viewed from a legal perspective, not a personal relationship.

"The law does not recognize friends and family," said Ahmad Dhani. This statement refers to the background of the good relationship between Vidi's and Keenan's parents, who were once known to be friends.

According to the founder of Dewa 19, the law has limits and interpretations that can only be made by official institutions such as the court. "As far as I'm concerned, the law already exists, we can't assume and interpret the law; only judges can do that. As far as I know the law says that, for each violation, it's Rp500 million," said Dhani.

He also gave an example from his personal experience when he had a dispute with his ex-wife, Maia Estianty, regarding assets. "I used to have a quarrel with Maia about joint property," said Dhani.

Dhani believes that the lawsuit amount from Keenan Nasution, which reaches tens of billions of rupiah, is not separate from the applicable legal provisions, namely the calculation of losses per copyright infringement.

"The law states one infringement is 500 million. Ari can go to Agnez for 1.5 billion, right?" Dhani explained, comparing it to a similar case that had occurred in the industry.

Ahmad Dhani, in his statement, did not take sides with either party. He only reminded that anyone involved in the arts should understand the legal rules regarding copyright. "Only the Judge can do that," Dhani emphasized in closing. /aal
