Roger Danuarta and Cut Meyriska have been living a married life for five years. This couple shares stories about how they keep their relationship harmonious without demanding each other to be romantic.
Roger admits that romantic moments do exist in their relationship, but they have never been a demand.
"There are, but there are no demands," said Roger when met at the Trans TV Studio, Tendean, South Jakarta, Friday (14/2/2025). Here are the details.
Cut Meyriska added that romance for them is not just about certain moments, but more about everyday habits. Saying good morning and good night, as well as small attentions every day, are things they maintain in their relationship.
"Yes. Because actually they give guidance every day for us. Like good morning, good night, every attention. Like at night we talk about what we have been through. Our sense of gratitude, saying thank you. So we do that every day," explained Cut Meyriska.
For Valentine's celebration, this couple does not have a specific tradition for exchanging gifts. For Cut Meyriska, attention and communication are more important than just giving presents.
"I say it every night. In the morning, I also say good morning and there are definitely conversations before that," said Cut Meyriska. "We each have our own work. As for the gift, it was just right. I was asking for something, and the timing coincided with Valentine’s Day. So, it just fit perfectly," revealed Cut Meyriska.
Roger responded to his wife's statement jokingly, asking if the moment was intentionally planned for the gift to arrive on time. "Or maybe it was intentional," said Roger, then laughed.
However, Cut Meyriska emphasized that it was just a coincidence. "I don’t know about you. As for me, I’ve wanted it for a long time. So, it’s not like there’s an obligation or anything," she said.
Roger explained that in his household, there has never been a specific request to give gifts on certain occasions. For him, happiness in a relationship does not depend on material things or specific celebrations. "No one has ever asked for gifts to be a must. Or that this or that must be there, none of that," said Roger.
