8 Handsome Portraits of Ahmad Pule, Mastur's Comedian Son, Now a Skilled Actor - Experience Story as a Tour Guide

Although he has acted several times before, Ahmad Pule considers this project to be a big one for him. He never expected to be offered the lead role.

“After reading the script, I didn't think about the main role, but it turned out that when I came to the office, I got the main role. If Pule is the main role, it needs to be considered first because it's not easy. But because the needs here are Betawi people and Pule is also Betawi, I go for it. Because it can be said that this is a big project,” said Ahmad Pule when met at CGV Grand Indonesia, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (13/12).

In this web series, Ahmad Pule also had the opportunity to act with several senior actors such as Yati Surachman, Shareefa Daanish, and Haji Bolot. He admitted that he was initially nervous. 

“I was nervous because of the senior actors. Everyone, like Mak Yati and Kak Shareefa, but because they are all friendly, it feels like having support. As for Pak Haji Bolot, he is a relative, so I already know how to deal with him. Alhamdulillah, it went smoothly,” he said. 

Playing the role of a tour guide, Ahmad Pule admits to gaining more knowledge about the city of Jakarta. Many places that were previously only seen can finally be visited. 

"I'm really happy to play here. Pule also didn't know much about Jakarta, always getting lost everywhere. That's why when I get the opportunity to play here, I can gain more knowledge. Starting from the Pinisi Bridge, even though I often see it, I haven't been able to go up there and it's really cool. And also JIS, the Intan Bridge, there are many," said Ahmad Pule. 

In this web series, viewers will be taken to explore various corners of Jakarta with all its stories, cultural diversity including culinary and the beauty of tourist destinations. The director, Thaleb Wiracan Wahjudi, hopes that this web series can attract the interest of people from outside the area to visit Jakarta. 

'Suddenly ngeGUIDE' is a web series initiated by the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) DKI Jakarta. There are 8 episodes that will be aired on RCTI+ and Jakarta Tourism's YouTube channel starting from December 20, 2022.
