Rano Karno was seen attending the funeral of his friend Koh Ahong, whose real name is Kasiman alias Salman A Farisi at TPU Parung Bingung, Depok, West Java, on Tuesday (13/6).

After the body was buried, Rano Karno on behalf of the family expressed his gratitude to the mourners who had helped with the burial on Tuesday.

“Allow me, Haji Rano Karno representing the Kasiman family to express our gratitude, starting from our father being admitted to the hospital and today being buried,” said Rano Karno.

On that occasion, Rano Karno also told the story of the origin of the name Kasiman becoming Salman Al Farisi but better known as Koh Ahong because of his role in Si Doel Anak Sekolahan.

"Haji Kasiman was born in Aceh, he is a unique figure from the Chinese ethnic group, then migrated with his wife, went on Hajj with me. After returning from Hajj, he looked for a name and chose Salman Al Farisi," he said.

Salman Al Farisi is a companion of the Prophet Muhammad, he is a fighter in the trench war and this name was chosen by him. But Kasiman is better known by his name Ahong, which happens to be part of a family that has been together for almost 35 years," said Rano Karno.

The big family of Si Doel Anak Sekolahan also greatly misses the figure of Koh Ahong after previously losing the figure of Mak Nyak (Aminah Cendrakasih).

"We, the Doel family, just prayed that we were left by mother Aminah, now we are left by our friend. We, the Si Doel family, are very lost and I am sure the Kasiman family is also lost," said Rano Karno.

Finally, Rano Karno hopes that the family left behind can accept the situation. According to Rano Karno, Koh Ahong is a good person, humble, and easy to get along with.

"But I am sure that the children and grandchildren left behind must accept it. Ahong has three children, two daughters and one son. Despite the lack of a father figure, he is a good person, very humble, and can get along with anyone, he can be accepted anywhere," he concluded.
