The movie PETUALANGAN SHERINA is now 23 years old. On its 23rd anniversary celebration, the cast members, including Sherina and Derby Romero, along with producer Mira Lesmana and director Riri Riza, invited some lucky fans to celebrate together at XXI Lounge Plaza Senayan on Wednesday (14/6). Not only did fans come from Jakarta, there were even fans who were willing to travel far from Semarang just to meet Sherina and Derby Romero, who played Sherina and Sadam.
While bringing their PETUALANGAN SHERINA collections that they have owned for 23 years, the Semarang fans shared their struggles to finally be able to come to Jakarta.
"Coincidentally, I didn't bring all of my collections, because if I did, I would have to bring a whole room. I only brought one album, the VCD of the PETUALANGAN SHERINA movie, and the CD of the PETUALANGAN SHERINA soundtrack. I have been a fan for 23 years, and this is the first time I have had the opportunity to come. I took the train at 5 in the morning and arrived here at 12:30. I'm so excited and I will definitely watch PETUALANGAN SHERINA 2 in the cinema. I really hope there will be a fan meeting in Semarang," he said happily.
This June feels very special because besides PETUALANGAN SHERINA's 23rd birthday, its two main actors also have birthdays. Sherina's birthday is on June 11 while Derby Romero's is on June 8.
On that occasion, they celebrated together by blowing candles and praying for the success of the PETUALANGAN SHERINA movie, which is planned to be released on September 28, 2023.
After that, they reminisced by singing karaoke to the song 'Lihatlah Lebih Dekat' sung by Sherina and Ucie Nurul. The song was sung during a scene where Sherina felt sad because she had to move to Bandung and leave her friends behind. Sherina's mother, played by Ucie Nurul, comforted her.
The atmosphere then became very emotional. Even Sherina couldn't hold back her tears. After singing, the actors were seen hugging each other.
Finally, there was a surprise from Yura Yunita who sang a new version of the song 'Lihatlah Lebih Dekat' and its music video was played. 'When I listen to it again now that I'm grown up, its meaning is so profound. If we learn to look closer, we will be wiser in interpreting whatever we are experiencing now,' said Yura Yunita in the video.
