Kapanlagi.com.- Actor Denny Sumargo expressed his calm attitude towards the report filed by Farhat Abbas at the South Jakarta Police.

The report is related to allegations of defamation, but Denny chooses not to escalate the issue. Although he feels defamed, Denny believes that Indonesian netizens are very smart in assessing what is right and wrong.

"Well, if asked legally I feel yes, if asked personally I don't consider it important because people can assess what is good, what is wrong, what is true. Netizens are smart," said Denny Sumargo in the Bendungan Hilir area, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (12/11/2024).

Denny also revealed that he was not surprised by Farhat Abbas's report. Before the report came out, Denny already had a feeling that Farhat would take legal action regarding this matter.

"No (surprised), I already knew the steps he would take," said Denny Sumargo.

Although legal steps have been taken, Denny chooses to remain calm and not to overreact to the situation.

In facing this issue, Denny tries to act maturely, considering that the problem has developed quite widely and involves many parties, including the Bugis Makassar community.

"Yes, this is our country, sometimes we as adults must act maturely. That's why earlier the elders of the tribe provided a good example," he explained.

He hopes that all parties can restrain themselves and not exacerbate the situation by inflating this issue. Denny feels relieved because the misunderstanding with the Bugis Makassar community has finally been resolved in a good way.

He believes that the mediation that took place between both parties could proceed smoothly because all parties had the same intention to resolve the issue.

"If there is a problem, resolve it with good mediation. But mediation will not happen if there are people who always oppose," concluded Denny Sumargo.
