Kapanlagi.com.- The decision of Denny Sumargo to visit the house of Farhat Abbas to clarify the lawyer's statement that he would "hit" him, ended up being lengthy.
Farhat Abbas then reported Denny to the South Jakarta Metro Police on charges of alleged hate speech.
Denny revealed the reason behind his action of directly visiting Farhat Abbas. He admitted that the decision was based on his concern for his wife after hearing the news.
According to Denny, when someone threatens with harsh words like that, of course, the family, especially the wife, will feel anxious.
"Why did I take on the challenge posed in the media about being beaten up? It's because I am worried about my wife. You see, there are people saying 'I want to beat you up if you do this and that.' If you're married, doesn't your wife worry? Of course she does," said Denny Sumargo in the Bendungan Hilir area, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (12/11/2024).
Seeing the potential for escalating problems, Denny decided to go directly to Farhat Abbas's house. The goal was to clarify Farhat's statements and avoid further misunderstandings.
"Therefore, I am responding to any unexpected events. I clarify directly, that's all," he said.
According to him, direct communication is the best way to avoid unwanted issues. Although his action of visiting Farhat's house ended with a police report, Denny admitted he was not surprised. He even anticipated that Farhat Abbas would take legal steps regarding this issue.
"No (surprised), I already know the steps," said Denny Sumargo.
Denny revealed that he does not intend to spread hostility towards anyone, including Farhat Abbas.
Nevertheless, Denny also emphasized that as a good citizen, he is ready to face the legal process that exists.
"If we want to resolve this amicably, let's resolve it amicably. It means I will be reported, so I will face it," he concluded.
