The Siraman Process of Erina Gudono & Kaesang Pangarep was conducted on Friday (9/12) in two separate places. Erina Gudono's siraman took place in Yogyakarta and Kaesang's siraman was held at Jokowi's residence in Solo. The difference is that Erina Gudono's siraman was broadcasted live on television while Kaesang's siraman was held privately.
Before the event, President Joko Widodo and Mrs. Iriana were seen inspecting the decorations in their yard.
To ensure everything runs smoothly, Jokowi even took the initiative to fix the decorations that had come loose.
Mrs. Iriana opened a package of bananas that were part of the majang tarub. In Javanese tradition, majang tarub is used as a symbol that the homeowner has a desire or a new family member.
Kahiyang Ayu, Kaesang's sister, was also present. She was accompanied by Bobby Nasution, her husband who is the Mayor of Medan.
Limited number of invited guests wait to be invited into the house. Meanwhile, journalists wait outside while the siraman ceremony takes place.
Jokowi greeted the invited guests warmly at the happy occasion. He wanted to share the joy with everyone present.
Location sterilization is implemented on the street in front of Jokowi's house. Only invited guests are allowed to pass.
As quoted from Kompas.com, after the event, Jokowi admitted that he, Kaesang, and Kahiyang cried during the sungkeman procession.
