"If I had followed my late mother's advice, maybe it wouldn't be like this. I regret it," Yuyun said at the National Commission on Violence Against Women, Jakarta, Friday (9/4/2021).

The artist who is famous for her role as Santi in the Jin dan Jun soap opera, tells the story of how she first met Fajar Umbara. "I knew him when I was 16 years old. He worked with my mother. He is a good, religious person. After a long time of lost contact, I met him again when I was single," Yuyun said.

When meeting Fajar, Yuyun admitted that there were two successful men who were close to her. However, she chose Fajar because she saw religious values ​​in Fajar.

Then she and Fajar got married in 2019. Unexpectedly, one day after getting married, the younger sibling of famous director Anggi Umbara committed an act of violence. "One day after getting married, I found out that he was rough, temperamental. He kicked the door of our child's room while using harsh words," she said.

Fajar's attitude didn't change even after several months of marriage, prompting Yuyun's mother to advise her to get a divorce. However, Yuyun chose to leave her mother's house in Cirebon and settle in Jakarta with Fajar. "My mother was angry and asked me to choose between her or Fajar. So I chose Fajar. Because he is my husband. Then we left. Me, Fajar, and our child live in Jakarta," she said.

Living in Jakarta apparently isn't as good as living in Cirebon. Not only often subjected to harsh treatment from Fajar Umbara, he also lives a miserable life. "Burdened with debts everywhere, amounting to hundreds of millions. I even lived in a studio for a year, without a bed, only a sofa," he sobbed.

Until Yuyun couldn't bear it any longer. Because her child also became a victim of violence by Fajar.

"That's my limit of patience. That's why I reported it to the police. Hopefully, I will get justice," she said.
