Muhammad Uki Kautsar, or formerly known as Uki NOAH, caused a sensation among the public when he decided to leave and abandon Ariel and his friends after migrating. Not only that, Uki even created controversy by once calling music haram.
Now, 2 years after leaving NOAH and the music world, several facts about Uki's departure are starting to emerge.
In a podcast on the Kasisolusi youtube channel recently, Uki revealed his reasons for leaving NOAH.
During his time with NOAH, it turns out Uki did not follow other NOAH members on social media. According to him, he feels that it is enough to be friends in the real world and there is no need for the virtual world.
Uki revealed that one of the reasons is because he wants to deepen his religious knowledge. His decision to quit the music world became more certain when he returned from the umrah pilgrimage.
He also admitted that after returning from umrah with his wife, he started to deepen his knowledge of Islam. However, since there was no teacher available, he began to learn from YouTube and social media.
Interestingly, before deciding to leave, Uki also had debates with netizens about the prohibition of music. Eventually, he searched for the truth and the history of halal music so that he could continue playing music.
While deepening his religion, Uki often watches content about music from preachers and religious studies.
During a concert, Uki met one of the preachers while on a plane. There, he poured out all his concerns about halal or haram music.
Interestingly, when they left, NOAH's contract had just started. Previously, they had finished their contract with the label named Peterpan, and eventually changed their name to NOAH.
Hearing that Uki wants to migrate and leave NOAH, his wife, Metha Yunatria, supports her husband's decision.
