Remembering the Past, Prince William Admits to Holding Hands with Taylor Swift

Kapanlagi.com - Prince William has just made a surprising confession about his legendary performance singing a trio with Taylor Swift and Bon Jovi in 2013. They performed the song Livin' on a Prayer at a charity dinner held at Kensington Palace.

As reported by People, Prince William apparently felt awkward or embarrassed when Taylor Swift invited him to sing on stage. It was because the pop star, also known as the American Sweetheart, held his hand.

William shared this directly in a special Christmas episode of the TIME TO WALK series, which aired on Apple Fitness+. The husband of Kate Middleton recalled an unforgettable experience that happened more than 8 years ago.

1. The Beginning of the Incident at the Charity Event

"So, about maybe 10 years ago, I didn't believe in telling this story. At that time, I attended a fundraising event for Centrepoint, a charity event for young homeless people that I have supported for years. At the annual fundraising event, there was me, Bon Jovi, and Taylor Swift, who almost made me fall," said Prince William.

While watching Bon Jovi's performance on stage, Prince William thought his duty was done. He could relax for a while before finally starting dinner and chatting with many invited guests. However, it turned out that assumption was completely wrong.

2. Taylor Holds His Hand and Invites William to Sing

"I sat next to Taylor Swift, she was on my left. And when Jon finished singing his first song, there was a pause, and she (Taylor) turned to me. She held my arm, looked at me and said, 'Come on, William. Come up (to the stage) and sing with me','" William revealed.

Still confused about what was happening to him, William admitted that he was really embarrassed at that time. "Honestly, when Taylor Swift looks into your eyes, touches your arm, and says 'Come with me',' I just get up like a puppy and answer, 'Yes, okay, that sounds like a good idea. I'll go with you.','" he added.

3. William Admits to Being Nervous on Stage

Not stopping there, William also admitted that he was very nervous performing on stage. The Duke of Cambridge is used to standing and delivering speeches, but he is not ready to showcase his vocal abilities in front of a large audience.

"Now everyone thinks I'm comfortable on stage. When giving speeches and doing things like that, which I have done often, it's not a problem. But I have never sung (in public). Sometimes, when you are taken out of your comfort zone, you have to be able to go along with it," William concluded.

4. 10th Wedding Anniversary

Previously, Kensington Palace had released the latest photo of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary. In the photo, William was seen posing affectionately with Kate Middleton.

5. Prince William Tested Positive for Covid-19
