The mediation attempt between Reza Gladys and Nikita Mirzani held at the South Jakarta District Court did not find a middle ground. The process, which was hoped to be a means of resolving the dispute, instead ended in failure and a heated atmosphere.

"Last week we had mediation, but the results were unclear, so this time we just decided to come and review the criminal case," said Surya Batubara at the South Jakarta District Court, Tuesday (8/7/2025).
According to Surya, the lack of direction in the mediation process was the main trigger for its failure. He stated that mediation should seek the best solution, but the opposite happened.
"It turns out there was mediation, so I came to the mediation and it was quite tough and unfocused. Because there was an unclear debate. Mediation is meant to find the best solution, so that peace can be achieved. It turns out there was a debate earlier, so the mediation discussion had no common ground and was declared a failure," he said.
Disappointment was also felt by Robert Paruhum, who was present at the trial. He criticized the attitude of Nikita's legal counsel, which was considered disrespectful to the court process.
"Earlier I was very disappointed, I was emotional seeing Nikita's lawyer. This is a court, this is not a cafe or coffee shop. In essence, the lawyer should be able to protect their client because we are in court," said Robert.
"Earlier my client was being accused as if it were a debate in a cafe. I immediately told the mediator, this is not mediation. This is a commotion in the mediation room. And the judge immediately understood, correct. It was immediately cut off, there was no more mediation. We went straight to the main case," Robert explained.
"Actually, the main goal of the plaintiff in suing for breach of contract is to acknowledge the existence of that agreement. In fact, there was no agreement. That is the only goal. That's why we say this breach of contract is a modus and a hallucination," he explained.
In this session, Reza Gladys was not present in person. The legal representative stated that the mediation invitation came too suddenly to be able to bring their client.
"But we cannot suddenly call our client like that. The timing is too tight. That's why we said we are ready to present as we mentioned last week when we requested the date of the 10th, Thursday, but the mediation is today," concluded Surya Batubara.
