Yasmin Napper is one of the main actors in the film ASSALAMUALAIKUM BEIJING 2: LOST IN NINGXIA, directed by Guntur Soeharjanto. In this sequel based on the novel by Asma Nadia, Yasmin plays the character Aisa, who travels to China to follow her lover.
"So around October to November we were filming in Ningxia, China, it was my first time in China and it was really fun," said Yasmin Napper when met in Central Jakarta, May 2025.
While there, Yasmin was amazed by the natural beauty of Ningxia City. She even did not expect that the place would be so enchanting and unforgettable.
"I didn't expect that China is really beautiful, the landscape, everything is so so beautiful. Also, during the shooting, it was heading towards winter if I'm not mistaken, so we shot in 0-degree weather, -4 is really cold but I enjoyed it," she explained.
"I was really shocked, maybe because as an Indonesian usually when we want to go on vacation it's to Korea or Japan. But when I went to China, I was really shocked because the country is really beautiful, has a lot of history, the streets are clean, the people are friendly. I walked at night and I wasn't scared, I felt very safe as a woman," continued this mixed-race woman.
Yasmin Napper admitted that she liked the story of this film. Giorgino Abraham's girlfriend mentioned that there are moral values that can be taken from ASSALAMUALAIKUM BEIJING 2: LOST IN NINGXIA.
"The most memorable thing is the moral value that I can take. God already has His own plan, there is a way, it has been determined. So we should not force something that is actually not meant for us," said Yasmin
This 21-year-old woman also revealed several challenges during filming. Yasmin admitted she went through filming with scenes that were not in order.
"For me, the most difficult part is managing the consistency of feelings so that from the beginning to the end of the film it feels smooth and flowing," said Yasmin Napper.
The film ASSALAMUALAIKUM BEIJING 2: LOST IN NINGXIA is scheduled to be released on June 19, 2025, in Indonesian cinemas. In addition to Yasmin Napper, this film also stars Baskara Mahendra, Ria Ricis, Emir Mahira, Gabriella Ekaputri, Lolox, and several other names.
